DecisionsIn stranger times we never saw
this opportunity, this open door
it was so obvious but we did not see
the symbol, reminiscent of our misery

we walked right past and some, right through
some unknowingly, found their path to be true
while others with a wistful eye
could not find a single reason why

The door closed when the curtain shook
and when age, the power of mind, took
the curtain fell, softly, at last
they finally saw what they had passed

The people on the other side
the ones whose sighs had not yet died
found solace in their own belief
that held a hint of cold relief
Crocodile TearsCrocodile Tears

There was a reptile swimming in a grayscale world.
His back glowed white like a sickly face
that rested in a ghost's hands

He lay on the sand of a pale beach and watched
the white sun shine through
gunmetal trees

A rose fell from a coconut tree and burst
like a ripe fruit on a concrete beach
and silky petals mixed with sand

A pale eye opened and a tear fell
He stretched his mouth and it dropped on white gums
and a bloated tongue

A coconut fell from a rose bush and rolled
to the water as a sacrifice.
An offering from a thief

A martyr stood at the shore line and slipped
into a grey mirror
that held him tight
